RSVPThe Collection Gallery
The Collection Gallery immerses visitors in more than 150 years of design history. This interactive, hybrid installation designed by Space Popular features mirror panels and wall-filling projections. Physical objects, such as models and drawings, form the starting point of a digital journey of discovery through the architecture collection of the Nieuwe Instituut. The Collection Gallery invites you to explore the richness and diversity of the collection by browsing through it and sometimes literally zooming in on the stories it contains.
Just In #2: Work in Progress
For Just In #2 a selection has been made from acquisitions for the National Collection since 2023. On display are pieces from the archives of the local architecture foundation Stichting Architectuur Lokaal, art historian Wies van Moorsel, and architects Frans Ghijsels, Aldo and Hannie van Eyck, and Herman Hertzberger. As the material is displayed as it arrived – in its original packaging – and an archivist works live in the gallery, visitors can observe the archival processes of the Nieuwe Instituut up close.
NADD Archive Day
The annual Archive Day, organised by the Network Archives Design and Digital Culture, takes place earlier in the day. During the third edition of this event, we will explore how craftsmanship, archiving, remembrance and resistance converge in contemporary creative and archival practices
