RSVPDuring the evening author Professor Henk van Houtum will present the content of the book with a follow-up of De Vormforensen (Anne-Marie Geurink and Annelou van Griensven) who designed Free the map. The publication is a plea for a new cartographic narrative. Free the map is a call to action to encourage the creation of an inclusive and human cartographic window on the world
After this, graphic designer Sam de Groot, artist and researcher Maria Lalou and architect Skafte Aymo-Boot will discuss [UN]FINISHED: Atlas of Athens’ Incomplete Buildings – A Story of Hidden Antimonuments. Drawing on ten years of research, they will share their thoughts and choices in translating an archive into a book.
The evening will conclude with the screening of the two-channel video projection Barbaresou Legacy or The Cursed One by Lalou and Aymo-Boot.
This is the first iteration of Omnibus, a new series of book events. In each edition, presentations and talks will highlight two new publications.
