New Future For Old Buildings
26 September 2019 19:30 - 21:30
How can we better transform the future? What can we learn from the past few years in which studios and apartments have been realised in old office buildings? Woningbouwatelier (the Housing Construction Workshop) sees new opportunities by focusing less on the product and more on future residents. During the Guest Programme 'New Future For Old Buildings', Woningbouwatelier will investigate.
What does the future of transformation look like? A few years ago, transformation was completely 'in', and thousands of studios and apartments were realised in old office buildings. Now, the numbers are declining considerably, but the expectation is that by 2023 many buildings will become available again. Due to new legislation, buildings must have at least a C energy label to be used as offices, giving a new impulse to the transformation market.
The idea of Woningbouwatelier is to bring the supply of large vacant buildings and the individual demand of home seekers together in a smart way, and to give residents the opportunity to realise their ideal home. During this evening, Woningbouwatelier challenges you to think critically about this, kicking off with a number of pitches from innovative leaders in the transformation market. Then, Gerben van Dijk takes you into the ideas of Woningbouwatelier. What do you think are the opportunities in the transformation market?
