New Old: How do you want to grow old?
24 October 2014 13:00 - 14:30
Developments in elderly care are occurring at a rapid pace. That is not only because we live longer but also because new technologies allow us to monitor our own health and enable care workers to respond efficiently and adequately to situations that affect our health. But these new developments present us with important choices. How do we deploy data and clever networks? To what extent do we want technology to take over our care? And what role does the government play as we grow older? All these questions lead back to one fundamental question at the core of this debate: how do we want to grow old?
During Dutch Design Week Het Nieuwe Instituut invites you to discuss with designers, care specialists and politicians the question "How do we want to grow old?" Professionals from the field, among them DDW ambassador Arne Hendriks, will share their views on this issue, and everybody present can also give their opinion.
