International House Museum Days
Visit house museum Sonneveld House during the International House Museums Days and experience the house with all your senses. Through a series of interventions, designers Simon Dogger and Hedwich Hooghiemstra have brought the house to life and made it accessible to people who are blind or partially sighted. The bathroom that smells of soap, art that you can touch and music from the 1930s that fills the rooms.

Sonneveld House is a museum house and one of the best-preserved homes in the functionalist Nieuwe Bouwen style. The villa on the edge of the Museum Park was designed in the early 1930s by the architecture office Brinkman en Van der Vlugt, known for the Van Nelle factory and the Feyenoord stadium. Sonneveld House shows how a prominent Rotterdam family embraced Modernism, and how that choice coloured their daily living environment.
