Het Nieuwe Instituut and De Stijl

To mark the De Stijl centenary, which is being celebrated under the theme 100 years of De Stijl. From Mondriaan to Dutch Design, PostNL has joined forces with Het Nieuwe Instituut and the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague to produce a set of ten postage stamps. The De Stijl stamps bear images of masterpieces from both museums' collections. This summer's pop-in expo at Het Nieuwe Instituut will show the context in which this stamp collection, designed by PutGootink designers, was made. The exhibition contains a film about the process of making the stamps, a masterpiece from the Theo van Doesburg collection, and a contemporary wallpaper design inspired by De Stijl.
State Archive for Architecture and Urban Planning
Het Nieuwe Instituut manages the State Archive for Dutch Architecture and Urban Planning, the largest architectural collection in the world. The archive of De Stijl founder Theo van Doesburg, as well as the archives of J.J.P. Oud, Jan Wils and Gerrit Rietveld, are all preserved here. The archives can be studied in the Study Centre.
100 Years De Stijl
Het Nieuwe Instituut is working with several other museums to mark this centenary. The major exhibition _Architecture and Interiors. The Desire for Style, _is a cooproduction with the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague, where it will be on show from 10 June to 17 September 2017.
Pop-in expo
Weekly changing presentations in the foyer of Het Nieuwe Instituut. A controversial new design, sensational research, work by an emerging talent or a new acquisition for the State Archive for Dutch Architecture and Urban Planning are given a place in the spotlight.
