Habitat: Expanding Architecture

In collaboration with TU Delft, the Jaap Bakema Study Centre is organizing a research and archive seminar with Leonardo Zuccaro Marchi and Elisa Dainese. On this occasion, the new PhD programme, Architecture and Democracy, will also be announced.
During the seminar, Leonardo Zuccaro Marchi, authhor of The Heart of the City (Routledge, 2018) and Elisa Dainese (winner of the Bruno Zevi Prize and affiliate of Dalhousie University) will give presentations on the origins and history of the Habitat discourse in modern architecture. This will be followed by a conversation with Dirk van den Heuvel exploring the intersections of the Delft architectural research programme, historic sources and archival studies, and public discourse and exhibition making.

14.00 - 14.30 Welcome and introduction by Dirk van den Heuvel, associate professor Architecture and head of the Jaap Bakema Study Centre.
14.30 - 15.30 Presentations by Leonardo Zuccaro Marchi and Elisa Dainese.
15.30 - 16.00 Conversation exploring the intersections of the Delft architectural research programme, historic sources and archival studies, and public discourse and exhibition making.
16.00 - 17.00 Tour of the exhibitions and archives.
