Fashion in Flux Presents: FEELING FASHION
During the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2025, Fashion in Flux invites you to experience fashion through film during a new edition of FEELING FASHION. Our special guest is artist and filmmaker Hadi Moussally will talk with moderator Yassine Salihine about the changing role of images in fashion and how fashion films can contribute to social change. We also look at the work of four Rotterdam-based image-makers, Flo Meijer, Coco Simons, Tyna Le and Michal Zgierski, who are similarly to Moussally interested in the transformative power of fashion. With a special performance by Salma Zahore.

Hadi Moussally
The work of Hadi Moussally (Lebanon, 1987) encompasses film, photography, production and performance. In France, he obtained a master’s degree in fiction and documentary film. It taught him the art of observation and the creation of powerful, aesthetic images. In 2013, he founded the collective h7o7 with Olivier Pagny, focusing on experimental photography and film. His first films are Ma vieille grand-mère (2014) and Bowl of Cherries (2016).
In 2020, Moussally focused on hybrid films combining fiction, documentary, fashion and dance. Highlights include Bellydance Vogue, selected for 90 festivals, and La Casquette, winner of the France TV competition. With over 50 awards and 400 festival selections worldwide, his film Shame عيب won the Fashion Film Award at the Dutch FASHIONCLASH festival in 2024.

FEELING FASHION
From February 7th to 9th, Fashion in Flux and FASHIONCLASH will present a screening of all the films featured in FEELING FASHION, alongside eight additional fashion films, that were showcased during the last two editions of the FASHIONCLASH Festival. This diverse selection, featuring both Dutch and international works, highlights the evolving and multifaceted world of fashion film. The programme is available during regular opening hours and is free to attend.
FEELING FASHION is organized in collaboration with FASHIONCLASH and is supported by Designplatform Rotterdam, Nieuwe Instituut and Gemeente Rotterdam. Hadi Moussally’s visit is made possible by the International Visitors Programme of the Nieuwe Instituut with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
