Het Nieuwe Café offers a Thursday Bite every Thursday evening from 5pm: a light vegetarian meal from the kitchen of chef Manuela Gonçalves Tavares. You can order the Thursday Bite for ¬ 8,88 at the bar on the evening itself.

Every Thursday evening, one of our Detour Guides (formerly known as tour guides) takes you on a free Detour through one of the exhibitions in Het Nieuwe Instituut. Experience design, digital culture and architecture from your guide's perspective. For example, one Detour ends in a joint choreography and you design for insects in another.

_In order to participate, gather at the reception desk at 6.55pm and inform staff that you would like to join. _No registration needed.

For its latest event, Research Nights hosts a roundtable discussion exploring the themes surrounding the multi-year project New Store. The project focuses on researching and testing-as-research the systems of production and exchange as a way of exploring the possibilities of "regenerative consumerism". This evening brings together interested members of the public and invited guests from the fields of design, architectural and cultural retail.

New Store is a collaboration between Het Nieuwe Instituut, Seeking State and International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam.

  Holding Space with Aminata Cairo
  Book Presentation, Performance (¬ 7,50 / ¬ 3,75)

Speaker, academic and storyteller Aminata Cairo reads from her book _Holding Space_, in which she explains her own take on inclusion. As with the book, the presentation is an experience, with music, dance and words, Cairo involves everyone present in the joint pursuit of an equal space where everyone is valued.
