Design Drafts: Launch Disegno Spring Issue and Open Call for Design Writers
Het Nieuwe Instituut celebrates the launch of Disegno's spring 2022 edition, 'Disegno #32', and Het Nieuwe Instituut's Design Drafts' open call for up-and-coming design writers, in collaboration with the London-based magazine.

Together with team members of _Disegno _we will delve deeper into topics addressed in Disegno #32 and celebrate the launch of the open call _Design Drafts. _This launch event will take place at Het Nieuwe Instituut.
Disegno #32
Disegno #32 is filled with a selection of essays, photography and interviews, drawn from all around the world. Exploring new projects, current affairs and the discipline's various socio-political entanglements, these stories show why design matters to the world at large. The magazine entails amongst others: Mitzi Okou and Sade Fasanya delving into Before Yesterday We Could Fly, a new Afrofuturist period room at the Met, as part of a roundtable featuring designers Hannah Beachler, Ini Archibong and Jomo Tariku, as well as curators Sarah E. Lawrence and Abraham Thomas. And the pioneering feminist architecture collective Matrix meet with curator Viviane Stappmann to discuss their work in creating intersectional, community-focused spaces in 1980s London.
Design Drafts at Het Nieuwe Instituut
Design Drafts is a growing writing and publishing network dedicated to investigating and drafting what it means to write about design today. Through collaborations between Het Nieuwe Instituut and different magazines and publishing platforms, the series sets out to stimulate emerging forms of design writing and discourse.
Disegno Journal
_Disegno_ is an international journal dedicated to long-form writing and photography around design. It covers all design fields, as well as the social forces that shape, and are shaped by, the discipline. Disegno is devoted to writing and photography that highlights the political, social, environmental and industrial impact of design.
