De Zwarte Hond Debate: Thinking Bigger
Join a debate with design agency De Zwarte Hond on 'ensemble urbanism', the theme of the latest edition of their bookazine OutThere. In it, they demonstrate how urban ensembles could offer asolutions to the housing crisis and issues of liveability.
25 September 2025 17:00 - 20:00
The current housing challenge demands greater speed, scale and quality, without losing sight of the human dimension and liveability. De Zwarte Hond believes that urban planning ensembles can play an important role in this, with architecture, public spaces and urban planning designed to work together harmoniously.
Jeroen de Willigen (De Zwarte Hond) engages in a conversation with the Netherlands’ Chief Government Architect Francesco Veenstra, Development Manager Esther Verkerk (Woonstad Rotterdam), and Chief City Architect of Antwerp Christian Rapp. Together they will debate the question, ‘Have we forgotten how to think big?’ Dore van Duivenbode will moderate the discussion.
