The Industrial Renaissance
31 October 2019 19:00 - 21:00
After a long period of globalized outsourcing, new forms of manufacturing emerge in the Netherlands. What characterizes the locations of new manufacturing, compared to old industries? How does manufacturing relate to other urban activities such as dwelling, recycling or learning? Are we making enough room for it in current urban developments?
Speakers are Jurriaan van den Eijkhof, strategic advisor at ORAM (To make a productive city: How to incorporate (manufacturing) industry in an urban environment that focuses on housing?) en Birgit Hausleitner, researcher/lecturer at TU Delft (Cities of Making: Spaces for manufacturing and a multi-disciplinary co-creation instrument towards them).
