Clothes for Progress: Better Together
Together with fashion visionaries Clothes for Progress, Pop Trading Company and artist Eddy Varekamp, this edition of Design Dialogues will focus on the idea of building and empowering a community for change. During the event, Clothes for Progress will present a sneak preview of their latest capsule collection. The evening will be moderated by Shaquille Shaniqua Joy.
4 November 2021 19:30 - 21:00
In collaboration with Het Nieuwe Instituut, Clothes for Progress joins forces with Amsterdam's Pop Trading Company and artist Eddy Varekamp. The garments from the new capsule collection will be launched after this event. The clothing items have been made from overstocked Pop Trading samples and have been customised with overprinted illustrations by Eddy Varekamp and tactile messages inspiring change.
The evening will start off with a short presentation about the project, followed by a panel talk which will be moderated by all-round creative Shaquille Shaniqua Joy.
Clothes for Progress
Clothes for Progress (C4P) is a continuous fundraising platform harnessing the power of fashion as a tool to build community, and give back. All funds raised by the platform are equally distributed between five named charities: Black Lives Matter UK, Nederland Wordt Beter, National Bailout, Black Queer and Trans Resistance Netherlands and The Black Archives.
In March 2021, C4P has sold 30 hoodies from the exhibition The Hoodie under the banner Uniform for Change.
