Book Launch: Art Applied by Inside Outside/Petra Blaisse
This event presents Art Applied, a new book documenting the work of designer Petra Blaisse and her studio Inside Outside. The book offers a kaleidoscopic view of more than three decades of interior, exhibition and landscape design. With an introduction by Aric Chen (General and Artistic Director, Nieuwe Instituut) and contributions by Aura Luz Melis and Jana Crepon (Inside Outside), and Wouter Vanstiphout (Crimson Architectural Historians).
14 June 2024 17:00 - 18:30
Inside Outside designs environments on a range of scales, from expansive urban landscapes to intimate domestic spaces characterised by soft textile walls.
This comprehensive book includes leading projects such as the recently completed Taipei Performing Arts Center, the Kunsthal in Rotterdam, the BAM Tree Library in Milan and the LocHal Library in Tilburg, a factory repurposed with an architecture of semi-transparent curtains. Art Applied also includes unrealised projects and explores the studio’s many collaborations, including the highly fruitful one with OMA that began in the late 1980s.
