The workshop will begin with a presentation by Rianne Makkink of Studio Makkink & Bey. She will talk about the studio’s archive, its WaterSchool project, and how it approaches archival material.

You will then work with archive coaches to learn how to organise and describe your own archive. You will reflect on questions such as: Why do something with your archive? Who do you want to make it accessible to? And what do you want your target audience to be able to do with it? The answers to these questions will form the basis of your personal action plan. Armed with this knowledge, you will then be able to further develop, implement and maintain your own archiving process.

This workshop is part of the 2026 Landscape Triennial and will take place in Arnhem during the Spraakwaterfestival an event devoted to the changing dynamics of water in the landscape. Current and future designers, policymakers, spatial thinkers, researchers and local initiators will share their insights and challenges during plenary sessions, workshops and excursions.
